White Elephant Safaris Joins AfriCamps
2019 heralds Safari Lodge’s 20th anniversary, and with it comes major changes.
Over the past two decades our guests, agents, operators and staff have loyally supported us turning Safari Lodge into a much loved, special destination.
However, times have changed, and with it, dramatic shifts in the tourism market. Thus, we have made a strategic decision to enter the ‘glamping’ arena and we will be refurbishing the Safari Lodge into 12 self-catering tents, which will be opened in January 2020.
Tree planting
“The one who plants trees knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life” - Rabindranath Tagore
Farewell to Heike Zitzer
Heike Zitzer has been a part of the White Elephant family since 2009. We are sad to be saying good-bye to Heike who left at the end of January 2019.
Press Release: Drought....no Doubt
Southern Africa is in general, a very arid region, with erratic climate and seasonal rainfalls, and the Pongola Game Reserve in North East Zululand is no exception.
Since the summer of 2014, we have been experiencing one of the driest spells in living memory. Certainly this is our first major drought at White Elephant since the lodges opening in 1999 (17 years ago).
